PUNE: The Pimpri Chinchwad authorities on Monday registered a case against BJP’s Bhosari MLA, Mahensh Landgehis brother along with 50 others about the cost of violating Covid criteria through the pre-wedding service of their legislator’s daughter in Bhosari village on Sunday afternoon.
Video clips of folks collecting at the occasion had gone viral about various social networking websites, after the Pimpri Chinchwad police swung into action on Monday afternoon.
Even the Bhosari authorities filed a case under sections 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by people slave ), 269 (whoever unlawfully or negligently does some act that is, and which he knows or has reason to believe to be, most inclined to spread the infection of any disease dangerous to life) and 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code.
The authorities also invoked relevant provisions of the Disaster Management Act and also Maharashtra Covid Rules against Landge along with many others.
Once contacted, Landge stated,”Each of the 50 individuals who attended the pre-wedding service, called Mandav Tahala, would be my family .
Nobody outside the household was present in the function.
Each of the relatives have obtained Covid vaccine.
