BJP municipal chief Murdered in J&K terror Assault

SRINAGAR: Terrorists shot dead a BJP civil committee chairperson in the Kashmiri Pandit community in the Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district late Wednesday, raising fears of a resurgence of attacks political employees in J&K.
Slain Rakesh Pandita was geared at seeing a friend in Tral Payeen, about 45km in Srinagar, without both private security officers delegated to him, the authorities said.
A daughter of this friend, identified as Mushtaq Ahmad, has been hurt in the terror attack.
Injured Asifa Mushtaq was declared to SMHS hospital in Srinagar.
“The BJP leader had requested his security guards to stay at Srinagar when he put out to go to his new friend’s house in Tral,” a police officer said.
“Security forces have cordoned off the field and also a large search operation is still underway to nab both assailants.” Pandita, chairperson of their Tral Municipal Committee, was supplied”bonded hotel lodging” at Srinagar and PSOs, the authorities said.
Condemning the killing, lieutenant governor Manoj Sinha explained,”Saddened to hear about the terror assault over the councillor Shri Rakesh Pandita.
