Kolkata: Congress Trinamool Birbhum District President Anubrata Mandal on Friday was summoned by the CBI in connection with the alleged murder of Gaurav Sarkar, a BJP supporter, in Gopalnagar Village in Birbhum.
The source close to the mandal shows that he has quoted a disease as an excuse not to appear before the Central Investigation Agency.
Mandal was asked to appear before the agency unit office in Ilandazar.
Mandal reportedly said that he was not healthy.
He previously missed the CBI call in the case of illegal coal mining, citing a disease.
Sarkar was allegedly attacked by a group of Trinamool Congress workers on May 2, the results of the election results were announced.
Allegedly some people were present at the general meeting of the victory that day suddenly attacked him.
He was beaten with severe and collapsed there.
Then, Sarkar gave up on his wounds.
On September 13 last year, the CBI arrested the people named after, Dilip Midya from Hooghly, in connection with the incident after conducting several searches in the area.
The next day, the agency reached the Office of the Trinamool Congress to question several party workers.
They also asked the Murmu Ram, former President Ilanda Pancayat Samiti, at the CBI Durgapur camp office.
Two accused people, Rabbi Base and Lagai Hansda, were arrested by the agency later.
