New Delhi: Insexediable victory from BJP candidates in the election of the Urban Local Agency (ULB) on Tripura is the reason behind “noise” that the Trinamool Congress (TMC) was made in Delhi, the ruling party said.
The statement from a BJP leader came after the MPS TMC delegation held a protest outside the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) in Delhi on Monday on suspicion of police brutality in Tripura.
Delegation has also searched for an appointment with the Minister of the house Amit Shah for this issue.
Reacting to protest by TMC MPS, a BJP leader told Timesofindia.com with the terms of anonymity that the election would be held for 20 ULB on November 25.
Of this 20 Ulb, one is the Agartala Municipal Corporation, 13 city councils and six Panchayats Nagar.
BJP has won four without assistance from 13 city councils and two of the six Panchayats Nagar.
BJP leader further said the total 334 seats ULB would conduct a poll.
Of this 334 seats, BJP has won 112 unsupplied seats.
The election will now be held in 222 seats on November 25.
Of these 222 seats, BJP fights in all.
On the other hand, TMC is a field candidate in 120 seats, CPI (M) in 197 seats, CPI in 6, RSP in 2, AIFB in 3, Congress at 92, the other in 21 seats.
TMC has a gloomy opportunity to win the election on the remaining urban local agency.
BJP leader commented: “(this) explains why TMC makes noise in Delhi and not in Tripura.” Tensions in Tripura have increased after the incidence of violence in run-up for ULB selection.
TMC has alleged that several people suffered injuries after the attack on the Kediawi Head of the Steering Unit Steering Committee was Bhowmik in the Bhagaban Thakur Chowmuni area on Sunday.
MPS TMC also sat in Dharna from Monday morning in the National Capital of the arrest of the Trinamool Youth Congress Chief Saayoni Ghosh by Tripura Police.
Ghosh was arrested on Sunday for allegedly causing a commotion at a public meeting where the head of the Tripura Minister Biplab Kumar Deb was present.
