Kolkata: BJP on Thursday announced a candidate for Bypolls scheduled to be held on October 30.
Three Turncoat Trinamool Congress and Party Veteran Figures on the list.
Niranjan Biswas will sail from Shantipur, Jay Saha from Khardah, Ashok Mandal from Dinhata and Palash Rana from Gosaba.
Biswas, a BJP veteran, was chosen for the Shantipur constituency in Nadia who fell emptiness after Jagannath Sarkar chose to keep MP.
After getting up from a humble background, Biswas, trained in a medical course, has become a popular figure in Shantipur.
He was an ABVP leader who became vice president of BJP District.
“He is a very humble person and the son of the land,” said Nadia BJP President Ashok Chakraborty.
Dinhata in Cooch Behar also fell emptiness after Nisith Pramanik chose to keep MP.
Mandal is a former Trinamool MLA who joined BJP before Lok Sabha 2019 polls.
He has opposed Dinhata for Trinamool in 2006 and defeated Udayan Guha, then a leader of the block forward.
Getha then joined Trinamool and was a party candidate from Dinhata this time.
Rana, residents of Raadisghi, will compete from Gosaba in 24 South Parganas.
Employers based on professions, shutter also switched from Trinamool after Lok Sabha 2019 poll.
After joining BJP, he had nomined the Secretary of the Mathurapur District Organization District.
Saha, a candidate from Khardah, is known close to BJP leader Arjun Singh.
He has turned to the side after Singh joined BJP.
