Chandigarh: Punjab President BJP Ashwani Sharma has written a letter to the consumer Affairs Affairs Minister, Piyush Piyush Goyush, demands the cancellation of new quality specifications set by the central government to procure rice and wheat.
Sharma said remembering the Punjab climate, plants must be obtained based on old quality specifications, so there is no impact on purchasing their plants.
President Punjab BJP said The Food Corporation of India (FCI), on the recommendation of the expert committee formed by the central government in terms of the procurement of wheat and rice with a collection of central control, has issued a new uniform quality specification that said it was no more than 2% of items to be damaged , no more than 2% of seeds must be colorless, no more than 20% of items must be damaged, and seeds may not contain more than 14% moisture.
Sharma said this new specification was wrong.
He said according to the specifications of the previous quality, no more than 3% of seeds must be damaged, no more than 3% of grains must be colorless, no more than 25% of items must be damaged and grain should not contain more than 15% moisture .
He said from September to November, the temperature declined and this had a direct effect on plants.
He also urged gouces to intervene in personally.
Sharma said the owner of the Punjab rice reputation also put this problem in front of him and that the goal of BJP was to complete the demands of farmers and traders.
