PANAJI: In a large setback to BJP in Saligao, his carakartas rebel group, under the ‘shared banner for Saligao’, on Sunday, making a decision to involve a candidate for the party’s candidate from the election of upcoming assembly.
This group tends to involve independent candidates.
The rebel group has chosen two possible candidates, ahead and rupid rising, Sarpanch and members of Zilla Panchayat from Reis Magos, respectively.
The rebel group organized great strength on Sunday in Verem to protest the entry of former Saligao Mla Jayesh Salgaonkar to BJP.
More than 1,000 people attended the meeting, including the former Mandal Mandal member BJP Saligao, a former member of Mahila Morcha, a former member of Yuva Morcha and former members of OBC Morcha, among others.
The former Vice President of Saligao Mandal, Fondu rose to say that they would conduct a survey in the Saligao constituency and complete one of two names.
“We will finish Rupesh or dipar as a candidate for the Saligao constituency to fight against BJP candidates,” he said.
Rupesh said that the decision to convey salgaonkar to BJP was taken without taking the former Saliga BJP Mandal and Karakartas became confident.
He said that the decision emerged as a big shock for all party workers.
