Lucknow: Taking Jibe on what it described as a Tugof War in BJP to claim credit for Purvanchal Expressway which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday, Head of the Jamajwadi Party Akhilesh Yadav described the classic project about how BJP ‘seized’ other people’s initiatives.
Before PM won Sultanpur to dedicate toll roads to people, Akhilesh brought to Twitter to slam BJP to rule to claim credit for the project.
“The ribbon comes from Lucknow and scissors from Delhi.
There is a pull-interesting to claim credit for the SP project,” said the part of his Tweet in Hindi.
Then on the day in the press statement Akhilesh said it would be better to have the prime minister, while dedicating the project to people in the country, stating that it was conceived and initiated by SP.
“It is the SP government that announces that the budget provisions will be made for the toll road while putting the foundation on the Gala event held outside Vidhan Sabha in December 2016,” he said.
“It is the SP government that released money for land acquisition for the project,” he added.
He said the SP government received the Agra-Lucknow toll road completed in 22 months which was a record in himself.
SP has claimed BJP is five years behind SP in terms of providing landing facilities and take off for fighter planes on the freeway that BJP tries to show off by air.
“We did it five years ago when the combat jet touched in Agra-Lucknow Expressway,” he said.
More than a dozen IAF aircraft, including Mirage-2000 fighters and Sukhoi 30s, in addition to the C-130J Super Hercules aircraft, participated in the training near Bangarma about 65 km from Lucknow in December 2016.
