Imphal: BJP has signed a “cooperation agreement” with some members of the party can be derived in Manipur Assembly elections that will come, in an effort to prevent the change of allegiance before the poll.
Members include those who can be nominated in Keisamthong assembly constituency in Imphal West district and Sugnu in Kakching district, the sources said.
“The party has signed cooperation agreements with many candidates as possible in the presence of Chief Minister N Biren Singh, so that they do not switch in the middle of the emerging political scenario” BJP chief spokesperson in the state, told PTI.
Saffron Party have been meeting “sensitization” to ensure Bonhomie and cooperation among the members, which tends to run in the polls.
Elections to the Assembly of 60 members of Manipur will be held in two phases on 27 February and 3 March, while counting will take place on March 10.
BJP, which has witnessed an exodus in Uttar Pradesh by three ministers have recently Stop at the party, has not announced the list of candidates for the Manipur Assembly elections.
