New Delhi: Two days after the center cut Customs in gasoline and diesel, BJP Friday hit the opposition parties because it did not reduce value added tax and accused them of doing “small politics” with high fuel prices.
It was said that the opposition attacked the center of the high price of diesel and gasoline but did not follow the settings when the United States trimmed customs.
Overcoming a press conference here, BJP spokesman Gaurav Bhatia said countries ruled by the party had cut VAT on fuel to increase the relief given to ordinary people near the middle, but countries ruled by opposition parties such as Congress , Trinamool.
Congress and Aam Aadmi Party have not done so.
“If the state and country ruled by BJP can provide assistance to people, so why don’t exist countries ruled by Congress,” asked Bhatia, accusing them “cruel and incompetent”.
Noting that the leader of Congress Rahul Gandhi has dubbed the central government of “pickpocketing” at high fuel prices and using the Barb “extortion” on it, the BJP leader said there seems to be no “pickpocket” than Congress.
VAT on gasoline in Rajasthan ruled by the Congress was Rs 32.19, and it was Rs 31 in the opposition ruled by Maharashtra now compared to Rs 21.86 and Rs 20.46 in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand who were ruled by Bnatia, said Bhatia.
The Modi government has cut customs at the price of gasoline and diesel of Rs 5 and Rs 10 at night Diwali.
The central government, added Bhatia, has used taxes collected from people to build the nation and community welfare.
Transfer of direct benefits from RS 19 lakh Crore has been done, he said, adding that the poor have been given free rations too.
The decision to reduce fuel prices shows the sensitivity and consideration of the BJP government against people, he said.
