New Delhi: BJP spent Rs 252 Crore in assembly elections held at Assam, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and Kerala earlier this year with almost 60 percent used to campaign in the Integrated State of Trinamool.
According to the electoral expenditure statement submitted to the poll panel, from RS 252,02,71,753 spent by BJP, RS 43.81 Crore was for Assam polls and Rs 4.79 Crore for the election of the Puducherry Assembly.
In Tamil Nadu, where Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) grabbed the power from his rival Aiadmk, BJP, who only received 2.6 percent of the sound, spent RS 22.97 Crore in the campaign.
BJP pushed a full throttle in the campaign against the Trinamool Mamata Banerjee Congress in West Bengal, spending RS 151 Crore in the state.
In Kerala, where LDF constantly maintains strength, BJP spends Rs 29.24 Crore.
Election expenditure statements submitted by political parties to the Election Commission have been included in the public domain by polling panels.
