Chennai: BJP will intensify his protest across Tamil Nadu if the government refuses to open the temple for worshipers every day, the President of State K Annamalai said on Thursday.
With government orders, temples in the country are still closed on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
“We gave ten days for the government to roll back his unknown orders.
If they don’t do it, we will go up to the streets,” Annamalai said after heading to a demonstration in front of the temple of the temple that came under the constituency of the port assembly represented by the Minister of HR & CE PK Sekar Babu.
Annamala said the DMK government tried to encourage its ideology into the private space of the community and faith in the name of Covid-19 prevention measures.
Senior BJP leaders include President Wing Women and Coimbatore South Constitution MLA Vanathi Srinivasan and the Floor of the Nainar Party Nagendran took part in a demonstration in front of 12 temples in the country.
Annamalai said the temple saw a big meeting on weekdays because they were still closed on weekends.
It beat Covid prevention logic, he said, showing that the government came with SOP and limited the movement of worshipers at the temple throughout the day.
The same approach can be adopted for all religious institutions, including mosques and churches.
In the government’s decision to change the gold jewelry offered by worshipers to the gold bar, the BJP leader said it was a “bad step” that opposed the law.
The party will approach Madras High Court.
