MySuru: Six months after not successfully trying to seduce JD (s) to rule Mysuru City Corporation, BJP made a new effort to win their support to get a Mayor’s post.
The Mayor post fell emptiness after the High Court canceled the election JD (s) Corporator Rukmini Madegowda from Yaraganahalli – Ambedkar Colony (Ward 36) recently.
Election officers are scheduled to be held on August 25.
St Somashekar’s cooperation minister, who toured the district, called on JD (s) MLA SR Mahesh to attack the agreement with JD.
Somashekar, along with MP Pratap Sime held a discussion with Mahesh over the Alliance.
But Mahesh stopped promising an alliance and said he would bring this problem to notice JD (s) high command.
The source said that at the meeting, JD leaders expressed helplessness because both parties had a shared strength as mayor and deputy mayor.
“JD (s) the leaders do not want a bad name at this point by joining BJP.
They are also afraid of losing the Mayor’s post that they are currently holding,” said a source.
BJP City President Ts Srivatsa told Stoi, “JD (s) the leaders have searched for two days to announce their decision.
