Hubballi: Senior BJP leader Jagadish Shettar said that the party will win more than 82 wards in the HDMC election, and maintain power with a clear majority of Ward where the fighting party rebels will be won by official candidates.
Shettar said the selection of candidates was a difficult choice because the party had received more than 700 applications – there were 10-15 candidates from several wards.
“However, efforts are made for field consensus candidates.
Some fight as rebel candidates will not have an impact on our candidates,” he added.
The BJP leader acknowledged that several criminals threatened their party candidates, even from prison by telephone.
“The party leaders have instilled the trust between candidates and such police has taken action.
Such a threat will fall flat on people’s support,” he said.
When Shettar was asked about Shah’s decision to go to the next assembly poll under the leadership of the Bukavaraj Bommai, the former CM said he was committed to the decision taken by the Brass Party.
But when he was increasingly asked by quoting his earliest attitude because he did not join the Bommai cabinet, and against the next election below him, Shettar touched a smile: “Long Assembly selection (2023).
We will wait and see what happened at that time.
I Will work as a disciplined party worker.
“When asked whether the party was not in accordance with respect for the seniors, Shettar said:” Opinions have been disclosed in the appropriate forum.
” Claiming that the price of fuel that continues to increase will not affect the results of ULB polls, Shettat said: “The price increase is not a new phenomenon – it exists even during the government of other parties.
This is a non-problem,” he added.
