Bhagabanpur (east midnapore): A 38-year-old BJP worker was found lying on the road with several stab wounds at Mohammadpur Block Bhagabanpur on Saturday.
Local residents say Chandan Maity, also known as Sambhu, was taken to Bhagabanpur Hospital, where he was treated.
But he died while when transferred to the Tamluk Hospital.
BJP said Maity was ‘shaktipramukh’ and threatened agitation if the killer was not arrested.
According to sources, Maity was at home on Saturday when an unknown person blew around 8pm and kidnapped it.
His wife, who went to celebrate ‘Bhai Phonte’, told the neighbors when his call to him was missed.
The neighbors launched the search and police Bhagabanpur was also told.
Maity was found lying in a puddle of blood for hours later, a few kilometers from home.
The police said the body wore several stab wounds and he had died of excessive blood loss.
Based on the hospital report, the police had submitted a murder case.
BJP immediately blamed the Trinamool Congress for the murder.
President of the Party Organization District, Nabarun rose, said: “Chandan is a capable organizer.

He is threatened and attacked repeatedly after the election.
The culprit must be arrested immediately.
