Blank stay in excavation, industrial wet grinder urges Govt Tamil Nadu

Coimbatore: This wet grinder manufacturer in the district wants the state government to change the rules of the Tamil Nadu mineral mineral concession, 1959 to revive the industry.
The production of wet grinders was stopped after Madras High Court prohibited the excavation in the Tirupur District Utuhuli in June.
While the 64 stone mine operating in Uthukuli provides stones that are suitable for making wet grinders, mining is also done for blue metals and makes M-Sand.
Hearing the case of broad violations in mining activities in Uthukuli, HC mining activities prohibit, affecting stone supply to around 100 large industries and 900 small units of making wet grinders in coimbatore.
R Soundar Kumar, President of the Coimbatore Association of Wetgrinder and Accessories Manufacturers (Cowma), said that the state government must allow mining activities in areas less than one special hectare to extract stones for grinding production.
“In accordance with the rules of the Tamil Nadu mineral mineral concession, 1959, mining activities were permitted in a minimum or 2.47 hectare soil.
There are people who have less than one hectare but cannot submit mining activities because of the rules,” Kumar said.
Cowma Sasta M King’s head said that 2,800 to 3,000 stone density with a combination of silica-mica, which was ideal for making wet grinders, only available in the UTHukuli area.
“Stone to make Blue Metal and M-Sand can be extracted from other parts of the country.
By bringing amendments, the wet grinder industry can be saved,” he said.
This industry employs more than 30,000 people in Coimbatore.
Someone can find a grinder unit in Pasaresapalayam, Avarampalayam, Peellamedu, Kalatti, Rathinapuri, Sanganoor, Nalmpalayam, Ganapathy and Maniakarakalayam, where these units operate like the cottage industry.
The wet grinder industry is the first to be recognized by the state government under the Cluster Development Program, based on the recommendations of the UN Industrial Development Program.
