Baghdad: An explosion from hand grenades crashed into the Iraqi parliamentary headquarters Speaker Mohammed party Taqaddum Halbous in Baghdad early on Friday injured two guards, police sources said.
The explosion caused damage to the door and window of the building, the police said.
There are no groups that claim responsibility and there are no comments from the Halbous or Iraqi government immediately for the incident.
A similar incident clock then targeted Baghdad headquarters from the AZM party from other Sunni Muslim politicians, Khamis Al-Khanjar, police said, but only causing mild damage.
There is no claim to be responsible for the second incident.
The Iraqi parliament, which was just elected after the October 10 general election where the strong Shiite Muslim Cleric Moqtada Al-Sadr was the biggest winner, chose to restore halbilities for the second term as a speaker on Sunday.
Shiite parties are in harmony with Iran and rivals where Sadr, opposes the selection of Halbous.
