Washington: US Secretary of State Antony Blinken spoke with the Head of the High Council of Afghanistan for National Reconciliation of the intention of the Biden government to achieve political settlement to end the ongoing war in the country.
“The State Secretary Antony J.
Blinken spoke with the High Council of Afghanistan for the Chairperson of National Reconciliation Abdullah Abdullah today to reaffirm US commitments to seek fair and durable political settlement that ended the war in Afghanistan,” said a spokesman for the Foreign Affairs, Thursday.
They discussed how to accelerate peace negotiations and achieve inclusive political settlement, respect the rights of all Afghans, and prevent Afghan land be used to threaten the United States and its allies.
The two leaders regretted a sustainable Taliban attack, loss of innocent Afghan lives and the transfer of civilians, and underlined the widespread international curse against these attacks, said the statement.
Blinken Secretary and Chairperson Abdullah promised to stay closely in the future.
This happened after the support of the outpouring for Aghan security forces which began on Monday night in West Afghanistan, which had large-scale battles over the past few weeks, Tolo News reported.
