WASHINGTON: State Secretary Antony Blinken on Tuesday condemned an incident where a swastika was carved into the elevator wall at the Department of Foreign Affairs’s main headquarters.
Blinken said in a message sent to all department employees that Vandalism is a painful reminder that antisemitism remains a problem in the US and throughout the world and must be estimated without stopping.
`” Because this reminds us, antisemitism is not a long relics, ” Blinken said in the message.
“ Still power in the world, including close to home.
And it’s disgusting.
It has no place in the United States, in the Department of Foreign Affairs, or anywhere.
And we have to endlessly stand up and reject it.
“We also know from our own history and from the history of other countries that often occur in antisemitism with racism, sexism, homophobia, xenophobia, and other hatred,” he said.
“ There is no ideology that must have a house in our workplace or our nation.
“Blinken said The Swastika, which was found on Monday, has been removed and the incident was being investigated.
