Patna: A new block with 1,200 beds will be built at the Institute of Medical Sciences Indira Gandhi (IGIM) here soon, Minister of Health Mangal Pandey said that after inaugurating the oxygen generation factory on the hospital campus on Sundays.
He said three cryogenic oxygen plants each 22 KL must be installed there, including this one month alone.
The minister said the 500-bed block was being built there while the government planned to increase the number of beds from 1,050 to around 3,000.
Pandey said, “Overall 122 oxygen generation factories are scheduled for installations in government hospitals, including those in the Regency and Subdivision, in August-end.
The first has Ben installed in Igims.” He said all efforts to strengthen health care facilities.

Pandey said the Regional Daftalmology Institute in Igims was also being developed with more beds.
Former Minister of Uni and Patna Sahib MP Ravi Shankar Prasad said the oxygen plant plant in the IGIM would produce 233 liters of oxygen per minute, enough to fill 50 D cylinder types a day.
He said the one-day generation of this plant would be able to fulfill the supply of oxygen without interruption to 50 patients for 24 hours.

Manish Mandal’s medical supervisor said that if the patient began to get oxygen completely from an internal oxygen plant, the doctors would save patients who needed oxygen during treatment.
He said no patient would be disappointed again because he wanted a bed or oxygen from Igims, which is committed to serving people effectively.
