B’Lureans to get allotments on the doorstep from November 1: cm

Davanagere: The state government will launch the sending of backpacks to the front door of November 1 in Bengaluru, which includes all 28 assembly constituents, Head of the Bukavaraj Bommai Minister on Saturday.
This is part of the ‘Jana Sevaka scheme’ of the government to be launched from January 26 with the aim of bringing administration close to the public, he said.
Under this scheme, wheat, flour, rice and sugar will be sent in front of the people’s door.
“The government should not be limited to Vidhana Soudha, but it must be closer to people.
The government can become pro-people only if all institutions working in rural areas function effectively, so, we apply this scheme,” said Bommai by launching the program ‘March towards the village’ in Surahonne in Nyamati Taluk to overcome the villagers of misery and complaints.
The DOORSTEP backpack delivery scheme was first initiated by the AAP government in Delhi and it was temporarily jammed after the center raised objections before giving a nod.
Bommai said the step was being carried out to introduce a social security scheme.
“All government services, certificates, documents relating to the public and also farmers will be available at the pancayat-level gram itself and the facility will soon be launched,” said the ministerial head.
He also said people did not need to visit the Taluk office to resolve the problem.
Complaints, even those related to retirement, can be resolved at the GP level, he said.
CM previously handed over the benefits of governments such as Sandhya Surakha, old retirement and widows, site allotment documents to many beneficiaries.
The solid waste disposal vehicle and other facilities were also given to Surahonne Gram Panchayat.
