Bengaluru: Daily Covid-19 infection in Bengaluru can touch 12,000 surprisingly on January 15, said the source of Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanaagara (BBMP) said.
Documents accessed by TOI show that BBMP has associated in private organizations to estimate how the third wave of pandemics will emerge in the capital city of Karnataka and the findings are gloomy.
Data showed that in the past week, a new case in Bengaluru surged 166% compared to the previous week.
Daily infection touched 810 on December 31, 2021, and spiral was not stopped since then.
On Monday, the infection that day stood at 1.041.
The city witnessed an average of 214 cases every day over a 40-day period ending January 1 and 296 cases every day for a period of 15 days.
However, the three-day period ended January 1 saw a daily average of 680 cases.
Bommanahalli, Mahadevapura, and CV Raman Nagar are assembly constituencies that report the highest number of cases.
The reason: travel history and social meetings.
“With increasing travel, the number of cases will also rise,” said as a reply, Chief Health Officer, BBMP.
“December has many holidays because of the travel and social meetings that generally increase.
This has added to the increase in cases.” Tech Hub on December 31, Mahadevapura reported 109 cases, while Bommanahalli registered 71 new cases.
“Mahadevapura is a technology center and journey history is rampant among technicians,” said Balalasundar.
The BBMP has taken strict steps to control the spread of the virus by imposing a micro (MCZ) detention zone.
There are 107 MCZs in the city, with 877 households stated outside the boundary.
Mahadevapura led the list with 44 MCZ followed by Bommanahalli at 41.
“Bommanahalli zone saw many movements due to trading activities in the market and other industrial estates, contributing to the case,” said Balalasundar.
The pattern has changed internal studies carried out by BBMP showing the increasing cases are mostly seen between the urban crowds.
“The case pattern has changed.
This is no longer a slum area and the people who will come infected,” said a senior bureaucrat from the Department of Health and Family Welfare.
