B’luru: Doorstep shipping government services launched

Bengaluru: The government on Monday launched the delivery of 58 government services in Bengaluru under the Janasevaka program to commemorate the 66th Kannada Rajyotsava.
Minister of Basavaraj Bommai inaugurated the program in the election of Malleswaram, said the government would develop it throughout the state of January 26, 2022.
Starting on the pilot base in 2019, this initiative was expanded to four constituencies in the City – Dasarahalli, Rajajinagari and Mahadevapura – and then to Yeshwantpur January 2021.
The pilot project has seen 93,000 applications that are raised until now.
It was detained during a pandemic and continued earlier this year.
On Monday, it was launched in 27 segments in Bengaluru (not including aneccelles) with the services provided by six large departments.
Agency includes the Department of Revenue, BBMP and BBMP and Karnataka Buildings and other construction workers’ welfare councils, and these services include police verification, Arogya Karnataka Health Card, Senior Citizens and App Cards.
Services will be provided on all days (8:00 to 8pm) with RS 115 shipping costs (excluding departmental service fees).
Residents can contact the call center Janasevaka at 080-44554455 or use cellphone cellular application.
They can also enter www.janasevaka.karnataka.gov.in.
Bommai said the concept of Janasevaka also involves giving rations to the BPL family at their door.
“This program is the beginning of the efforts of the Karnataka government to minimize the service system that is driven by the bureaucracy, where ordinary people have to pay more than the cost of actual services to complete their work,” he said.
The use of Doorstep backpacks will be extended to all 28 assembly constituencies in Bengaluru Urban, including 198 city wards, CM said.
As a symbolic movement, he walked to several houses in Rajmahal Guttahalli Ward to provide documents sought by people under the scheme.
