B’luru: File robbers complaints against the crowd to attack him

Bengaluru: In a strange twist, an armed robber filed a complaint of the police who accused physical violence by passing people who tried to beat and arrest him at Richmond Road two days ago.
He wants the police to act against those who attack him.
Ritesh Jayakumar, 18, Domlur was caught on the camera in the afternoon of September while running away after a failed robbery offer.
Brandishing knife, he had broken into the taxi parked by the roadside and threatened the Pratap Patil driver if he did not part with cellphones and cash.
But Jayakumar’s plan did not work when Patil pushed him out of the vehicle and shouted to ask for help.
Some people who pass and rushed to Patil’s help and tried to arrest Jayakumar.
However, in riot, the thief tried to cut people with his knife.
When he changed aggressively, the crowd landed a few blows.
One driver, in fact, grabbed Jayakumar’s arm and the other hit him with a helmet and log.
However, Jayakumar fled by utilizing snarl traffic on the road.
After this, Patil filed a complaint of the police in the robbery efforts.
“We tracked the injured robbers and ordered it under the IPC 393 section (an effort to carry out robbery) and 398 (trying to carry out robbery or dacoity when armed with deadly weapons),” said a police officer.
But in the complaint back to the police, Jayakumar reportedly said: “I tried to rob a taxi sitting in his vehicle at Richmond Town at around 4pm by threatening it in a knife.
I wanted to win his cellphone and his wallet.
But he escaped and shouted for help.
Hear The screams, 30-40 men are surrounded and beat me.
I suffered an injury to the head, lips, hands and my feet.
I am looking for legal action against unknown people for attacking and beating me.
“Following his complaint, the police ordered the case under section 323 ( Voluntary causing pain) and 341 (wrong restraints) to the crowd.
When the question was raised about how the police could order cases against those who risked their lives to arrest armed robbers, an officer said: “It is the police duty to register FIR when filing a complaint.
We are looking for public cooperation in capturing criminals, but we also ask for people to did not take the law in their hands by beating the suspect.
