B’luru: legalizing same-sex marriage, demonstration demonstrators

Bengaluru: More than 5,000 people participated in the 14th edition of Namma Pride, demanding overall sensitization to LGBTQIA + community and legalization of same-sex marriage.
The main organizers, coalitions for sex workers and sexual minority rights (CSMR), are maintained that bete pride is not a celebration but protests.
“We have come a long way.
Our first attempt is the elimination of section 377 and now we want legal recognition for couples and same-sex parents,” Yash said, ‘Volunqueer’ at Namma Pride.
Ayaan Syed, a member of the organizing committee, said the protest also focused on the liberation of the transgender community.
Underlining that most Transgenders are forced to beg and involve themselves in sex work, Uma, a transgender woman, who calls for full and exact implementation of the transgender policy in Karnataka, which has seen no progress since receiving approval in 2018.
“We want the ministry Education to implement sensitization modules in schools and colleges because discrimination can be uneducated there.
We are also committed to the prevention of suicide in the transgender community because suicide has increased from the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, “he said.
“The government only serves the interests of people who meet gender.
We are always ignored but now we want to see reservations for our community in government work,” said Stephie Sheryl, a transgender woman.
The protesters also heard the slogan to praise Babasaheb Ambedkar.
They stated that if he did not write the constitution, they would not be able to be on the road today demanding their rights.
“My body, my right.
My sexuality, I chose,” they sang when they finished their march from the KSR train station to Samsa Bayalu Rangamandira at Ravindra Kalashetra.
