Bengaluru: A 30-year-old man from African country was arrested at Kempegowda International Airport while smuggling Kokain Capsules, worth Rs 11 Crore in the international market.
Foreigners have swallowed pills containing drugs to avoid detection.
The drug breasts took place on Tuesday when the Bengaluru Unit Team of the Intelligence Directorate (DRI) reached the international arrival area to receive specific information that the cocaine in large amounts was smuggled into Bengaluru.
“We did a passenger profile of leaflets that came with flights from West Asia and intercepted a 30-year-old man, who claimed to come to Bengaluru for kidney treatment and had a visa for medical purposes,” said a officer.
After suspicion, Dethuths Dri delivered the man for medical scanning and found that he did carry many capsules containing drugs, then named a cocaine, in his stomach.
Narcotics smugglers were hospitalized and cocaine capsules were extracted on Friday night.
The man was arrested.
