Bengaluru: A 55-year-old woman was found dead at the Naati Vaidya residence (traditional herbal tabib) at Kattergenahalli near Yelahanka on Thursday.
The police identified the deceased as Sidamma and the physician as Saleem, which was suspicious of murder.
The police said the incident occurred between 8:30 a.m.
and 4.45 pm and was revealed when a woman, whose relationship with Saleem had not been established, arrived at home.
The police suspected Saleem strangled Sidamma to death.
He allegedly took his gold chain, a pair of earrings, and his cellphone too.
Introduction investigations revealed that the practice of Natifi Vaidya Saleem in his residence and Siddamatya was one of the “patients”.
“They became close and Saleem borrowed cash from him as a loan.
He might go to his residence to ask for his money back,” said a police officer, quoting neighbors and witnesses.
Some teams have been formed to capture Saleem.
