Varanasi: The Banaras Locomotive Works (BLW), with respect to research designs & organizational standards (RDSO), Lucknow, have successfully implemented the installation task of the ‘End Telemetry’ (Eott) device on the goods (machine number) 32266).
BLW spokesman Rajesh Kumar on Wednesday said that a similar device would be installed on other trains after testing successfully.
According to him, BLW has been chosen by the Railroad Council to implement (Eott), a superior mission project from the Indian train, which seeks to replace the Van Guard & Brake (BV) on the Train of goods.
Eott is a low-cost radio telemetry device used to build communication between the drivers of locomotives and the train’s last carts to ensure that the train runs with all the carriages as a complete unit.
BLW is the organizer of the task force for the smooth coordination and streamline project implementation.
The EOTT set consists of a taxi unit which is also called the communication and rear unit display unit, also called the sensory unit and brake or the tip of the train unit.
The rear unit is attached to the coupler behind the last carts.
The cabin unit and the rear unit communicated through a radio link that allows two-way transmission of status data and instructions for the rear unit.
The railroad board in November 2020, is approved in principle, complement all train goods with eott devices that will replace the standard Van Guard / Brake at the end of each item.
