Mumbai: The day after being revealed that 26 was tested positive at St Joseph’s school and orphanage in Agripada in Byculla, BMC planned to conduct a second RT-PCR test on Saturday.
Officials say they generally do repeated tests after five days, but in this case they are careful.
Assistant Commissioner City (E Ward) Manish Walunju said their staff had given senior direction, which directed them to take repetitive tests faster that the protocol set, anticipating the onset of symptoms.
“From 95 tested, 22 became positive.
This happened after four people had been tested positively before.
We will once again do the RT-PCR test from 69 which is tested negatively,” he said.
Environmental officials have sealed schools because more than five cases were reported.
BMC plans to check the night shelter or places where small groups of people live in the next few days.
