BMC can now hold a meeting directly again

Mumbai: BMC along with all urban regional government agencies can hold physical meetings from all committees and public bodies while following all Covid norms.
Only ten days earlier the State Urban Development Department has defended the BMC’s decision not to allow the physical meeting of the permanent committee as the government appoints competent authority not to make a decision to allow the physical meeting of the Law Committee.
Circular was issued in response to BJP which was approaching the Bombay High Court requested a physical meeting and the court then directed BMC to make a decision.
Circular UDD helps BMC to avoid conducting physical meetings.
Circular even filed in court.
At the last online meeting, the opposition parties have slamed Shiv Sena the ruling party at Tye BMC accusing it to thwart discussions about important proposals.
Opposition leaders say online meetings allow Sena to clean up proposals without discussion.
“It was due to a consistent follow-up by BJP and fear of the insults of the court that the state now allows physical meetings,” said BJP Bhalchandra Shirsat Party spokesman.
All city companies, councils, Parishads Nagar and Panchayats have been allowed to hold physical meetings.
