Mumbai: Mumbai’s Civic Body Bihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Saturday told that 36 percent of the coastal road project work has been completed so far.
Until now, 90 percent filled in locations, 68 percent of the sea walls and 11 percent of double tunnel work had been completed.
In a statement issued, BMC said, “With a happy journey of slogan, free breath ‘, 36 percent of the BMC coastal work has been completed.

The work was placed by the Bombay High Court in April 2019 with a group of petitions on this project but the construction was later permitted by the Supreme Court in May 2019, emptying the stay of the High Court after BMC appealed to the APEX court.
In 2017, this project was given a green flag by the Coastal Zone Management Authority Maharashtra (MCZMA), the Expert Assessment Committee (EAC) and the Ministry of Environment and Forest (MOEF).
