Mumbai: Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Sunday revised testing and rules of house quarantine for passengers who arrived in Mumbai from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), including Dubai.
According to the new rules, passengers who arrived from the UAE did not have to undergo a compulsory RT-PCR testing at the airport and they did not need to undergo a quarantine of a house of seven days.
“In accordance with the previous soup, a 7-day quarantine and on arrival RT-PCR tests made mandatory for passengers like that.
This direction is now revised.
There is no special SOP applicable for passengers who come from UAE including Dubai.
Applicable guidelines for travelers International who arrives from paragraphs other than ‘risky’ will apply to travelers who come from the UAE including Dubai, “BMC said on Sunday.
In December 2021, BMC had made a 7-day quarantine for all passengers who returned from Dubai and passengers who were entirely vaccinated were not needed to test RT-PCR at the airport on arrival.
BMC said that 12 countries were in the list of risky countries but Dubai was a travel center where passengers change flights and have passengers mixing at Dubai International Airport.
The new rules were issued after the threat of omicron variants from passengers arriving from Dubai.
However, these rules were revised by BMC on Sunday.
