BMC problem guidelines for tracking home testing

Mumbai: Worried about Covid Cases Not Reported, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Friday issued a circular to monitor sales and use of covid testing kits at home and ensure that people who use it report civilians.
BMC said that it is expected that all covid positive people tested through a fast antigen test (mouse) or home testing kits must be reported to the Indian Medical Research Board by related laboratories or individuals through cellular applications.
BMC has requested all manufacturers / distributors of home testing kits to provide information about the number of kits sold to chemists / pharmacies or medical stores and dispensaries based in Mumbai to the Food and Medicine Administration Commissioner (FDA) as well as epidemiology of BMC cells via email.
“Chemistry owners will issue bills to buyers for home testing kits and maintain customer records to whom home testing kit has been sold.
The information must be distributed by chemists and medical shop owners every day at 6pm via email to the FDA commissioner and epidemiological cells BMC, “said BMC Circular.
BMC has directed the FDA commissioner to monitor the distribution and sales of home testing kits for all chemists and medical stores and citizens.
BMC has asked the FDA Commissioner to educate chemists, owners of pharmaceutical stores and pharmacies to notify people who buy kits to report testing reports on the application.
“Data related to home testing kits to be received from manufacturers, distributors and chemists will be monitored by BMC epidemiological cells and forwarded to environmental level medical officers for further action.
