Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has begun to decentralize the large market to reduce the crowd and ensure the right compliance in Covid norms when cases continue to increase.
Previously, it moved several markets with the same purpose.
However, hundreds of vendors will establish shops in new places that violate the norms.
Without falling significant in daily infections, BMC has now begun to decentralize the market by reducing the number of vendors in any place.
This will actually give them space elsewhere.
In the southeast zone of the capital, the unit-1 market (space) has been kept away from boundaries after complaints of violations.
But vegetable vendors there are permitted to do their daily business from a place designated by BMC.
“We will soon decentralize the unit-iv vegetable market.
The non-vegan market there is closed,” said Anshuman Rath, Deputy Zonal Commissioner.
