Mumbai: BMC has launched the fifth sero survey in front of the possible third wave.
The sero prevalence study shows past exposure to the virus and the spread of infection in the population, official said.
Survey 5 Survey Started on Thursday with the help of the IDFC Institute and ATE Chandra Foundation on all 24 wards through the city dispensary for slums.
Clinic General Medical Practitioners chosen will be released around the city.
“About 8,000 random samples will be tested at Sion Hospital,” said a senior civilian official.
The first two surveys were conducted in July and August 2020 in three wards.
The third survey was conducted on March 202 on 24 wards and fourth survey conducted from May to June 2021 in the pediatric age group.
