BMC starts the drive to notify patients in house isolation

Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Monday launched a public address system to provide guidance to Covid-19 patients in isolation at a time whe home.
The capital has more than 11,000 active cases today, of which more than 90% are in home isolation.
Through an audio message, BMC reaching out to patients to allay their fears and give guidance on how to conduct themselves to minimize the impact of infection being at home.
the message contains the dos and don’ts to follow home insulation and when to call the doctor.
“The BMC awareness drive for home insulation comes after the health department is directed to educate the public about dealing with the aftermath of an infection at home.
Most messages asking people that they should be wary if a fever persists for three days and did not need to panic or to buy their own drugs without consultation.
In the case of oxygen saturation, people should seek advice from a doctor by calling the helpline (1929), “said deputy commissioner of BMC Suvendu Sahu.The audio message is also meant to educate people to follow the rules of strict isolation so as to check the infection in the cluster and in the family.
Although the number of infections in Bhubaneswar has declined slightly, BMC has created a containment zone within at least 20 agencies (including residential complexes).
The audio message has been designed so that it would sound like a conversation between patient and doctor.
The message also refrain people from using steroids and antibiotics without consulting doctors.
Sources said many people in the city to visit the hospital or seek hospitalization with minor complications.
On the other hand, some people after developing severe disease is not consulting a doctor.
If one family member is infected, the others get the infection in a short time, they said.
