Mumbai: Civic’s body can allow some relaxation for pregnant women who want to take Covid-19 vaccines, such as walk-in.
The center on Friday said pregnant women can make information choices about getting vaccinations.
Vaccination in public centers continued on Friday after the city received more than 1.25 lakh doses.
Dr.
Mangala Gomare, BMC executive health worker, said the corporation could allow Walk-in for pregnant women and get rid of the need to order slots online.
“We will see how to alleviate their experience to vaccinate.
For nursing mothers too, we have allowed Walk-in in limited centers.
We will study the first central order and then receive the phone,” he said.
BMC on May 24 issued orders stating that pregnant women can be vaccinated by sending letters from their own gynecological doctors and approval in writing.
But citizenship officials confirmed that no pregnant women were vaccinated on Friday.
An official said they could not request a doctor’s recommendation or written approval because the Ministry of Health has enabled vaccination now.
The city continued its journey in public centers with a dose of 1.25 lakh covishield received from the beginning of the state on Friday.
A total of 83,644 people were vaccinated.
The country recently received 11 lakh doses from the center.
According to Cowin, more than 3.77 lakh people were vaccinated on Friday, up from 2.56 lakh on Thursday.
