Mumbai: Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) told the Bombay High Court on Monday that it did not capture the third wave of Covid-19 pandemic in the city because the vaccination drive went smoothly, with more than 42 lakh people who were entirely vaccinated and more than 82 lakh has received the first dose.
BMC adviser Anil Sakhare also told HC that 2,586 people ridden by the bed have so far been given to the dose of Covid-19 vaccine while 3,942 these people have the first jab.
“The job is on.
This will be smooth.
Now, there is no vaccine shortage too.
Mumbai is safe.
We don’t see the third wave (from Covid-19) coming,” Sakhare said.
Division Bench Division Diparkar Datta and Justice GS Kulkarni heard litigation of the public interest submitted by the Advocate Dhruti Kapadia and Kunal Tiwari earlier this year, looking for directions for the Government and Maharashtra to start senior vaccination to the door for senior citizens aged 75 years and above, people People who are special and those who are ridden by beds.
The request said such people would not be in a position to step out of their home to go to vaccination centers and inoculated.
The union government said before it would not be able to start the door vaccination program to the door, but last month delivered it.
The Maharashtra government in August said it will start the drive and have started a door-to-door vaccination of the people riding as a pilot project.
On Monday, Kapadia told HC that the purpose of submitting pills was presented because now even the center has framed the policy to vaccinate their people in their homes.
The court then threw out pills and said, “We are happy now even these people are not seized from the Covid-19 vaccine.”
