Mumbai: BMC has issued a notification that imposes a penalty in a company contracted by RS 84 Crore to install 16 oxygen generation factories in a civil hospital for failing to complete work on time.
The company, a highway construction company, who has faced bad work accusations in the past and has been punished in the BMC penguin enclosure contract, should finish factory installations in one month.

PMC officials said that according to tender conditions, the company will face a penalty of 0.5% of the total delay.
Officials said while several sites were handed over to the company on June 16, some were submitted on June 25 and that they would count the right number of penalties for the location where oxygen plants did not operate in 30 days.
BJP has now demanded that recalling a bad company track record, BMC must demand the company from the new Oxygen Plant contract RS 320 Crore.
The last BJP was the last search of the company’s blacklist, which was awarded the RS 84 Crore contract to install the oxygen generation factory in 16 locations in Mumbai.
BJP accused the company failed to install and assign an oxygen factory in 30 days according to the work order on July 16.

BJP Corporator Vinod Mishra said: “We will move the Lokayukta and the Bombay High Court if the BMC provides a new Oxygen contract RS 320 Crore to the same company.
We also filed a complaint with the Wative Central Commission,” Mishra said.
P Velatu, Supplementary City Commissioner (project) said: “We have issued a notification to the company.
The sentence is 0.5% per week according to the tender conditions.
We will calculate the penalty as soon as the work ends and it will be restored.
We will take firm action against Contractors for delays and if there are irregularities.
