Mumbai’s Civic BMC BMC is set to buy 5,000 cocktail drug bottles to treat Covid-19 patients in preparation for possible third waves.
With each bottle at a 1.2 lakh Rs cost, the Civic body is expected to spend 60 crore at purchases.
The city hospital began using monoclonal antibodies since late May.
Among the civil hospitals, where he is managed for free, Sevenhills in Andheri has given it to maximum patients.
Each vial of cocktail medicine contains two doses.
Because a patient only needs one, actual BMC expenditure per patient will be around RS 60,000.
“Because the patient’s number is low, we don’t order now.
If there is a number increase, we will order 5,000 bottles in a gradual way,” said Suresh Kakani, Commissioner of the City of Additional (Health).
The Dean of Sevenhills Balkishna Adsul said that more than 610 patients had received cocktail therapy since June.
“Restrictions of one or two advanced patients need oxygen support, which will recover the most in a few days.
There are no deaths between those who get therapy,” he said.
Vasant Nagvestar, a member of the Covid-19 task force, said, “The key is that people must come to us early.
After severe symptoms or they come to us after seven to ten days, we cannot give this medicine.”
