BMC to repair 14 bridges with structural defects

Mumbai: More than a dozen bridges of vehicles and pedestrians in the suburbs of Mumbai will be taken for repairs and reconstruction due to structural defects.
The Civic body has proposed to spend around RS 16.88 Crore for the same thing, and the floating tender recently.
A senior official from the Bridges Civic Department said that the audit of the bridge, and FOBS, carried out where the auditor recommended a major improvement for six bridges, while the other eight had been proposed for reconstruction.
The vehicle bridge to be reconstructed is one in Malwani in Maldo, the Nalllah Hindustan bridge in Charkop Road, a bridge connecting Lokhandwala and Laxmi Nagar in Andheri (W), and crossing the Mithi River in Andheri-Kurla Road.
Those who proposed for major repairs including bridges on Jalan Andheri-Kurla on the Mithi River and one crossed Jalan Malad-Charkop Hindustan Nalllah.
