MUMBAI: Using the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation(BMC) updating its internal applications SAP and servers, the BMC’s online services won’t be accessible from June 11 to June 28 for a span of 15 days.
However services besides those on its own SAP system such as payment of land taxation, water bills and building plan prices will soon be accessible.
BMC was using SAP as center applications to cater to various needs of contractors, citizens and workers.
“To offer best of their services and also to update the SAP System with improved safety, BMC is executing SAP HANA as a brand new model of SAP system which gives users quicker software with real time creation of internet reports, center of file management, quicker testing of new software, brand new user interface, much more responsive and user friendly mobile programs, and assorted dashboards.
It’s essential to convert / migrate to the current SAP programs to SAP HANA stage where a downtime of about 15 times is necessary.
Because of expiry of the current cloud solutions contract, the job of migration of BMC software to the cloud solutions contract will also be consumed during this time.
In this period of time, the SAP servers will be migrated into a different data center and will be switched into SAP HANA stage,” explained a civic officer.
Because, BMC will utilize the eProcurement System of their state authorities, the tendering procedure of departments will continue.
