BMW Launches IX Electric SUV in India, Price of Rs 1.16 Crore

New Delhi: BMW German luxury car maker on Monday launched the flagship all-electric SUV IX in India at the introduction price of Rs 1.16 Crore, the first of three electric vehicles planning to drive in this country in the next 6 months.
Cars will be imported into India as a fully built-up unit (CBU) and can be ordered through BMW dealers in the main metropolitan cities in the country and shop.Bmw.in, BMW Group India said in a statement.
Shipping will begin in early April 2022, he added.

“IX is the first BMW without numbers in its appointment with ‘IX’ standing for the first BMW electric all-wheel-drive vehicle (SAV – Sports activities), the company said.
It is powered by two electric motors for the front and rear axle and can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 6.1 seconds with a 326 hp output.
As an introductory offer, the BMW IX will come with a free BMW Smart Wallbox Charger.
This can be integrated at home to allow charging safe and convenient to 11kW.
AC 11KW charger can charge 100 percent in about 7 hours and add a range of 100 km in 2.5 hours, he added.
Through the DC 150 KW charger, it can be charged up to 80 percent in an additional distance of 31 minutes and 95 km in 10 minutes, while with a DC 50 KW charger, 80 percent can be charged in 73 minutes with an additional distance of 100 km in 21 minutes.
The company said it would also install a fast charger at all touch points on the dealer network in 35 cities in India.
BMW said the IX came with a standard two-year warranty for kilometers without limits.
The battery is covered by a warranty that is valid for eight years or up to 1.6 kilometers.
Last month, the company has announced that it will launch three electric vehicles in the next six months in India to accelerate the travel of its country’s electricity mobility.
IX will be followed by an all-electric luxury mini hatchback in 3 months and the all-electric electric sedan i4 in six months.
