Noida: BMW car, stolen from a businessman in Gunpoint two weeks ago, has been restored and the three attackers involved in the incident have been arrested, said Police Noida on Monday.
The car was stolen from Amandeep Singh at around 4:30 a.m.
on July 3 when he stopped at a public toilet near the Metro-76 Metro station, police said.
The defendant Nitin Kumar Singh (27), Sandeep Singh aka Kaka (35) and Rahul Gihar (25) were all the residents of Firozpur in Punjab, according to officials.
“They were arrested on Monday from the roundabout in Sector 112 by the official Crime Branch and Noida Sector 49 police stations following a tip-off,” said a police spokesman.
“The BMW car stolen by them has been found.
Another car, Hyundai I20, which they have lifted from Gurgaon, Haryana, has also recovered.
The gun used in crime has also been confiscated,” said the spokesman.
The piracy of the car was planned by Nitin who was suspected of wanting to kill criminals in Firozpur with whom he had a personal dispute, the official said.
“Nitin quarreled with Saajan Mali, a firozpur criminal who had been accused of cases of booty and murder.
Nitin told the police that he, together with Sandeep and Rahul, had planned to kill Saajan for the car,” said a police officer Noida.
For this purpose, they recently stole the I20 from Gurgaon and made several trips to Firozpur but did not succeed in their plans and returned to Noida, their officials said, said their officials.
However, they think that now Saajan’s helpers must recognize their car so they want to change it and are looking for other vehicles.
While in Noida, they found BMW parked near a public toilet with just one occupant, the official added.
“The businessman returned from the home sector 78 when he was withdrawn near the Metro station but was targeted by the trio who used a gun to threaten him to hand over the car to them.
Following this, they escaped from this place,” the official said.
A fir put forward in case at the Sector Police Station 49, police said.
Police Commissioner Alok Singh has announced a 50,000 Rs prize to a police team involved in his crack, while DCP Noida Rajesh announced a gift of Rs 25,000, according to officials.
