Ahmedabad: Aslali police have arrested five people because of their involvement in the murder of a 33-year-old man.
The victim’s body has recovered from the Kharicut canal; Boring body 19 stab wounds.
The arrest was carried out on Friday and information appeared on Sunday.
Aslali police have on June 28 registering a murder case after finding the body.
The first task of the researchers was to find the identity of the victim.
The second challenge is to determine the motive for the murder.
The Aslali police formed several teams to identify victims.
During the investigation, it was revealed that the victim was Panchal Kamlesh, a resident of Punitnagar in Ghodasar.
The police then received a tip-off of the victim’s old competition with Alpesh alias Papesh Thakore, 21, residents of the same area in Ghodasar.
The police then learned that Alpesh and his four friends killed Panchus.
Police said that Alpesh persuaded Panchus to meet him.
When they were near the Kharicut canal, Panchal felt something was wrong and started running.
The five pursued him and helped it.
The police said that all the fifth involved in the murder was sent to the Sabarmati prison.
Apart from Alpesh, other people arrested were Parvin aka Panni Thakore, 19; Sanjay alias Laloo Thakore, 23; Sunil Bhatiya, 26; And Dharmendra aka Shero Prajapati, 23.
Dharmendra comes from VATVA while four others come from Ghodasar.
Police Aslali said that the murder weapon had recovered from the defendant.
The pedicab used during the incident has been detained.
However, the police have not revealed the nature of competition which caused the murder.
