Chinese electronic component company, BoE, recently converted the layout of one of its OLED panel factories to produce larger panels for other devices and cars, besides only smartphones.
BOE, which also occurs as Apple’s supplier, can develop OLED display for iPad and IC in this factory, MacRumours reported.
The report added that the factory will be able to produce an OLED screen with two layers of red, green and blue emissions layers that can offer the iPad in the future with a very bright appearance.
Although, it might be challenging for companies to succeed in producing this mass because this technology is quite complicated.
The report also added that a redesigned factory would be able to produce a display of up to 15 inches, but the cupertino-based giant has not announced a 15-inch iPad.
Previously, the report claimed that Apple would explore the idea of the iPad with a larger appearance but it seems like it would be far in the future.
BOE became a supplier of iPhone 13 displays in 2021 and the report claimed that the company might aim to become an OLED display supplier for the iPad in the future.
At present, the company will be displayed OLED for the iPhone from Samsung and LG.
Apple often tries to expand its supplier chain to reduce the risk depending on a single supplier and also to bargain at competitive prices.
