New Delhi: American Aerospace Giant Boeing is in Overdrive in India.
The day after getting orders for 72 B737 max and modification of the software to ensure security.
Spicejet on Wednesday said it has “signed a settlement agreement with the Boeing where Boeing has agreed to provide certain accommodations and complete extraordinary claims related to the 737 runway Max and return to service.” “It paves the way for maximum and younger aircraft induction into the company’s fleet and ensures the resumption of new aircraft delivery of our 155 max aircraft,” Spicejet said in the BSE Archives Wednesday.
While the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has around two months again allowing Max to fly again in India after modifying the hardware and software needed to ensure security, there are no 13 max spicejet which is currently in India which has so far continued to fly.
Now with Spicejet reaching the settlement with Boeing, which eventually might occur.
The announcement came a day after Rakesh Jhunjhunwala-promoting investor billionaire-promoted the order in the Dubai Air Show for 72 B737 Max worth $ 9 billion at the list price.
Spicejet previously said the max would start flying from October 5, 2021, but it did not happen.
India has banned the max B737 from flying to / from it on March 13, 2019, as part of Global Grounding after two maxts crashing – one of the Indonesian Lion water and others from the Ethiopian airline – within five months.
Overall, 346 people lost their lives in these two crashes.
Last year, Boeing completed corrective software and hardware modification.
This change was examined and approved by foreign flight regulators, including US manufacturing countries, UE, UAE, Singapore and UAE.
India is the last to approve change and allow modified Max to fly back, with China the only big country to clear it.
