Panaji: Goa Police on Thursday received a call from a car dealer in Porvorim told them that dealers had been warned about the threat of a bomb in its place.
Calls, however, turned out to be a trick.
The caller, who was then traced, told the police that he had taken a step when the dealer did not defend his words on the ship’s delivery he had ordered.
“We got a call that the bomb was immediately placed on the Sai service place, so we rushed to the place,” said Dysp Edwin Colaco, added that after searching with various Goa police wings, ATS certified that the place was safe to be occupied.
Porvorim police arrived in place within four minutes after receiving a call and emptied the place.
Bomb disposal forces, anti-terror squad, Porvorim firefighters, and 108 ambulances also arrived.
Manoj Mahale Sai Mahae said that they received a call from someone who spoke in English at 11 o’clock in the morning stating that there was a bomb in the office and that all must immediately empty it.
“Our receptionist thought that someone joked and he cut his call.
Around 11:30 a.m., another call was accepted by saying there was a bomb in the office and that the bomb squad and other troops would come, and that we all had to come out.
The third time, the caller said that He wasn’t joking and not angry, but it was a real call.
He warned that the next voice we would hear would be a big explosion, “Mahae said.
Porvorim and Panaji police station was immediately told about the call, said Mahae and added that caller telephone numbers were given to them.
Porvorim police have written to the Bardez sub-division judge who asked that the man was made to sign a good bond behavior.
