(This story was first published in Maharashtra Times on August 7, 2021) Mumbai: Police Mumbai on Friday night went to Tizy after they received calls from unknown people claiming that the bomb had been placed in four main locations throughout the city.
The police received anonymous telephone calls around 8.53 BC on the emergency telephone number 100.
The caller claimed that four bombs had been placed in Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSSMT), Dadar, and byculla train station, as well as in the actor Bungalow Amitabh Bachchan.
Immediately after the information was received, the police launched the operation to track callers.
However, when contacted again, the person refused the police and asked them to ‘not bother him.
“I just shared the information I have,” he said, and turned off his cellphone.
Following a large search operation in all four locations, security agents did not find anything suspicious.
However, the bomb team and police were asked to remain vigilant.
Mumbai police officers monitor the situation.
Head of Public Relations (CPRO) Officials from the Railroad Center, Shivaji Sutar, told the train police also conducted a search at the CSMT ticket connection, waiting room, kiosk, and platform after getting information.
Some parts of the train station are emptied.
Ciu Chime Mumum branch (crime intelligence unit) then renewed that he had detained two people.
They were questioned in connection with the calling telephone call, officials said.
