New Delhi: Head of the Karnataka Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Friday said the New National Education Policy (NEP) was the needs of the clock to enable Indian students to compete in the 21st century, while confirming that the RSS view on NEP was nationalistic.
Karnataka is the first country to apply NEP.

“We are in the 21st century and we do not need the Macaulay Education System.

NEP not only aims to “rewrite the wrong things” but also look into the future, he said, adding that with the advent of science, technology, and artificial intelligence, there is a need to prepare rural children to compete in the international community.
“We cannot become a spectator when our children are not given the right type of education and are not very well prepared to face the world.
We provide the best education for the next generation (through NEP),” said Head of the Karnataka Minister.
He also said there was nothing wrong with what RSS said about NEP.
“RSS’s mind is national thought.
What’s wrong with that?” He asked.
In opposition parties criticized NEP, BJP leader said Congress was part of political history and which was why it was thinking about history because it was suitable for it.

At Tamil Nadu opposed Neet, Head of Minister of Karnataka said neighboring countries had never carried out competitive exams because they entered college based on the sign there.
However, Karnataka and other countries have CET, where children from all walks of life can compete for any university.
Countries without competitive exams have many seats in management quota for students from special classes, he said.
“NEET is not new for us.

NEET is one of the competitive exams instead of tests held in different countries, causing discomfort for students, said Bommai.
